Set in the heart of Carlingford, Wood Quay provides unique self-catering accommodation. The cottage boasts large reception rooms and warm character. The local attractions surrounding Carlingford make it an ideal venue for weekends, wedding receptions, family parties, conferences, meetings, etc.
Now a popular holiday cottage, Wood Quay was originally a grain store for Carlingford railway station. Built in 1840, it has been sensitively restored using exclusively salvage materials. The reception is a gracious, high ceiling room with a fireplace at one end and an aga cooker at the other. The spacious conservatory is the perfect place to relax and unwind: just 3 feet from the water’s edge, it holds uninterrupted views of Carlingford Lough and the mountains. The cottage has its own private pier which can be used as a swimming platform, mooring or simply a picturesque spot to enjoy your breakfast!
The large reception rooms are also suitable for many different events. They have been used as a venue for wedding receptions, art exhibitions and a yoga retreat to name a few. Situated on the harbour front, Carlingford Lough becomes a special backdrop for any occasion.
In addition to the fascinating history and heritage of the local area, Carlingford itself boasts many pubs, restaurants, activities and festivals. Further details can be found on our Location page and on Pinterest.
